How to download an Instagram video
You need the link to a publicly accessible post. The tool first finds the available media; you then choose which files to save.

Copy the post link
Open the video or Reel in Instagram and use the copy-link option in the share menu. On a computer, you can also open the post and copy its address from the browser.

Return to this page and paste the link into the box. If the Paste button is unavailable, touch and hold the input on your phone, or use Ctrl + V on Windows and Command + V on Mac.

Find the available files
Select Download. The tool checks the post and lists the videos or photos it can access. Dimensions and duration appear when available. Processing time depends on Instagram's response.

Select Download beside the file you want. For carousel posts, choose individual items or Download all. If your browser blocks multiple downloads, save the files one at a time.

Instagram video download quality: HD and MP4
Download quality depends on the video Instagram makes available. This tool transfers that file without re-encoding it. It does not turn a low-resolution video into HD or guarantee the same resolution for every post.
Can I download in HD?
If a 720p or 1080p file is available, the video can be saved at that resolution. Some posts provide lower-resolution copies. Check the dimensions beside a result when they are shown.
Save Instagram videos as MP4
The video download saves an MP4 file, so a separate converter is not needed. If the file will not open, check that the download finished and try another video player.
Are 4K downloads available?
There is no 4K guarantee. A video filmed in 4K may be served by Instagram at a lower resolution. The downloader does not upscale the file.
Is it the original recording?
You receive a copy available from Instagram, which may differ from the creator's original camera file. You do not need to make a screen recording or export the video again.

The same post link works across devices. Where the downloaded file goes depends on your browser and download settings.
Android
Open this page in a browser such as Chrome and paste the post link. Look for the saved video in your browser's Downloads list or your file manager. Check there first if it does not appear in your gallery.
iPhone and iPad
Download the file using Safari, then check Downloads in the Files app. To add it to Photos, open the file and choose Save Video from the share menu if that option is available. Your Safari settings may specify a different download location.
Windows and Mac
Copy the Instagram post address from your browser and paste it here. The file is saved to your chosen download folder. You can find it through the download list in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Why is my Instagram video not downloading?
Use the error message to choose the next step. Even a public post may be temporarily inaccessible to the downloader.
The link is invalid
Copy the complete post link. It usually starts with https://www.instagram.com/p/ or https://www.instagram.com/reel/. A username or caption alone is not a post URL.
The post cannot be found
The post may have been deleted or archived, or its account may now be private. Being able to view it while signed in to your Instagram account does not mean the downloader can access it.
A public video still fails
Instagram may temporarily refuse requests, or the tool may be unable to read that post. Try again later. If the problem continues, send the post link and error message to the email address on our Contact page.
The download link has expired
File links in the results are temporary. Paste the original Instagram post link again and select Download to request fresh results.
The downloaded video has no sound
Check your device volume and player settings. The available video file may not contain audio. Compare it with playback on Instagram and contact us if the source has sound but the downloaded file does not.
Download and use content responsibly
Download your own content or posts you have permission to save. A public post does not automatically come with permission to republish it or use it commercially. Check the creator's permissions before reusing a file.

Instagram downloader FAQ
Does Instagram's Save button download a video to my phone?
Instagram's Save button bookmarks the post inside your Instagram account. It does not download a separate video file. This tool saves an accessible media file through your browser.
Can I download videos from a private Instagram account?
No. The tool does not use your Instagram session and cannot access private posts, even if you follow that account. It only processes content accessible publicly.
Can I download Instagram Stories?
Story downloads are not supported. You can use this tool for public post videos, Reels, photos and carousel posts.
Can I paste several post links at once?
Use one post link at a time. After results appear, you can submit another link. Up to five recent results remain on the page; refreshing the page clears that list.
Is there a daily download limit?
There is no fixed daily quota. A temporary limit applies if too many requests are sent in a short period. If you see a rate-limit message, wait before trying again.
Can I download the audio as a separate MP3?
No. The tool does not create MP3 files. Audio stays inside the MP4 when it is included in the available source video.
Are downloaded files stored on your server?
Media files are not stored permanently. The service uses a temporary cache to resolve links, error logs for troubleshooting and Google Analytics for visitor statistics. The Privacy policy explains data processing and retention.
